Culver students have opportunities rarely found in schools our size, including career and technical education, dual-credit courses, FFA, fine arts, athletics, preschool and extracurricular programs.

Culver operates its own school police department, allowing officers to build relationships with students while supporting school safety, attendance and families who may need additional help.

Culver Schools are an important part of the communities they serve.
Students and staff work with programs such as Blessings in a Backpack and other local partners that help provide food, clothing and basic necessities to families. Students volunteer throughout the community, and school facilities are regularly made available to community organizations.

Indiana's recent property-tax changes provide larger deductions and credits for many homeowners. Those changes can offset much of the additional referendum tax.
For Culver's actual median-value home, district projections show the resulting change in the overall property-tax bill at less than $3 in 2027 compared with 2026.
Little or No Net Tax Impact
WHY IS THIS REFERENDUM NEEDED NOW?
2018 — REFERENDUM APPROVED
Culver voters approved operating referendum funding in 2018. Since then, that funding has helped Culver maintain teachers, programs, manageable class sizes, preschool, school safety, student support, and many of the opportunities families see in our schools today.
SINCE 2020 — CULVER HAS MADE REDUCTIONS
Since 2020, we have reduced 42 positions, including 11 teaching positions, while also reducing administrative staffing. Additional reductions are already part of the 2026-27 budget plan.
Indiana changed its property-tax laws in 2025. Those changes provide new deductions, credits, and exemptions that can lower taxes for many property owners. They also reduce the taxable property value available to support local schools. That means the same tax rate can generate less revenue than it did before.
